The Detroit Pistons were open to options going into the March 25 trade deadline. On Friday night, they agreed to trade Svi Mykhailiuk, along with a 2027 second-round pick, to the Oklahoma City Thunder for shooting guard Hamidou Diallo, a league source confirmed. . . Mykhailiuk, who has made significant strides defensively this season, has struggled offensively after a breakout season the year before. The 23-year-old Kansas product is averaging 6. 9 points a game while shooting 37. 7 percent overall and 33 percent from 3-point range through 36 games. The Pistons acquired Mykhailiuk, who was the 47th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, in 2019 from the Los Angeles Lakers. Prior to Friday nights deal, Mykhailiuk was Detroits longest-tenured player after the Pistons and Blake Griffin mutually agreed to part ways. . . The Pistons, after a flurry of activity by new general manager Troy Weaver, have just one player remaining on the roster from 2019-20 season in second-year forward Sekou Doumbouya. . . Diallo, was the 45th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, who reported the news first, the Pistons already consider Diallo, 22, a fixture in the franchises future and will look to work out a new deal in the offseason. . . So far this season Diallo, has averaged career highs in scoring 11. 9, rebounding 5. 2, assists 4. 2 and minutes 23. 8. But with second-year guard Lu Dort having a break-out year for Oklahoma City, Diallos talents seemed to be a better fit elsewhere.
