A few of the afternoon thunderstorms could be strong with hail and strong winds as the main threat. . The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch until 8 p. m. for Dodge, Fillmore, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha and Winona counties. . . A thin line of storms will sweep west to east across the area early this evening, with a few becoming strong, potentially severe. . . Isolated tornadoes are possible, with strong winds and small hail also threats. . Fourteen counties are included in the watch including Mower, Steele and Dodge counties. . Mower is also under a wind advisory thats scheduled to go into affect at 5 p. m. tonight and last through noon on Thursday. . . According to the National Weather Service, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day into tonight with highs nipping at the mid-60s. . . Rain amounts are expected to be low, except higher should a thunderstorm develops.
