Roddy Ricchs Grammys Performance Of The Box Was Literally Epic
Roddy Ricch has become well-acquainted with the Grammy Awards committee and viewers, receiving three nominations and winning one at last years ceremony. This year, he not only added six new nominations to his growing collection but also performed at the ceremony, delivering a sweeping rendition of his song The Box, prefaced by a snippet of Heartless. The performance was literally epic, featuring a demolished Greek god statue, with Roddy playing a grand piano and backed by a harp. . The Compton rapper has certainly had more Grammy success than his youth and relative inexperience would suggest, thanks in large part to his proximity to the late, great Nipsey Hussle. Their 2019 collaboration Racks In The Middle won Best Rap Performance at the 2020 Grammys, just months after he released his debut album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial. The song was also nominated for Best Rap Song, while Roddys Mustard collaboration Ballin was nominated for Best RapSung Performance. . . This year, hes got even more bites at the apple thanks to his two 2020 No. 1 hits. While his TikTok-favorite solo single The Box is up for Best RapSung Performance, Best Rap Song, and Song Of The Year, Roddys collaboration with DaBaby, Rockstar, has them both anticipating potential wins for Best Rap Song, Best RapSung Performance, and Record Of The Year. The duo performed the song with Da Baby Boomers earlier in the evening.

West Indian Kieron Pollard hits six sixes in an over off Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya

Kieron Pollard has become just the second player to smash six sixes in an over in a T20 international, as the West Indies stormed to a four-wicket win over Sri Lanka.

Pollard’s incredible innings of 38 off just 11 balls stole the headlines away from Akila Dananjaya, after the Sri Lanka legspinner claimed a hat-trick which included the wicket of Chris Gayle for a first-ball duck.

Dananjaya experienced the precipitous highs and lows of the T20 game when he was the victim of Pollard’s brutal batting attack in Antigua.

Chasing 132 for victory, the hosts won the match with 41 balls to spare.

Dananjaya became only the 15th player and the fourth Sri Lankan to take a T20 international hat-trick when he dismissed Evin Lewis (28), Gayle and Nicholas Pooran (0) with consecutive deliveries in the fourth over.

He had little time to reflect on his new-found fame when it turned to notoriety: in his next over he was hit to all parts of the ground by Pollard, who become only the second player after Yuvraj Singh to hit six sixes in an over in a T20 international and the third player to achieve the feat in all international formats – the first being Herschelle Gibbs in an ODI.
